Helen Lackey, 83 passed away on February 25, 2024, at her home in Fort. Davis, Texas. She was a proud mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who was caring, kind and selfless.
Helen was born on July 4, 1940 and raised in Raton, NM. She lived there until 1982, at which time she moved with her husband, Frank, to Fort. Davis. Helen worked at the Texas Department of Health and raised her three successful sons, whom she was so proud of.
Upon retiring from the Department of Health, Helen enjoyed working in her yard and playing with her dog “Juicy”. Helen’s three granddaughters were the light of her life. She would brag on their many accomplishments and beam with pride when speaking about them.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents Lena and Jim Lucero, her husband, Frank, eldest son Brett, brothers Don and George Lucero.
She is survived by her sons Rusty and Justin Lackey of Lubbock, granddaughter’s Krystin, Shae and Lena. Helen leaves behind her sister Ruth (Sonny) of Farmington, NM, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
