Carl D. Haugen passed away September 18, 2022, in Fort Davis at the age of 77 years.
Carl loved to learn and demonstrated this by earning two master degrees and a PhD. He worked as a psychologist for 35 years. Over the course of his career he helped thousands of people gain a better life. He had excellent training in addition to that relied on the Holy Spirit to guide him. Clients would often comment on how “wonderful” his office felt. It was because of the prayer covering he did in the office and for his clients.
He loved his family and took seriously his role of taking good care of them. He looked forward to moving to Fort Davis. His desire was to continue his lifestyle of helping people. He talked to pastor Paul Harst about somethings he could do to help the youth in the community. He also had some ideas of things he could do to help families. Unfortunately he was not able to carry out his desires. While Carl Jr. and I are gifted in different areas than Carl Sr. our goal is to carry out his legacy and do whatever we can to contribute to the community of Fort Davis.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lynnette Benhardue Haugen; son, Carl Douglas Haugen Jr.; brother, Blyberg Haugen; and sister, Christine Mahlstrem.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Carlton Haugen; and mother, Harriet Neila Haugen.
